The first two years were spent on infrastructure; the Hotel was in terrible shape. We had to totally gut the interior and reinforce with new lumber and steel beams, as well as add reinforced piers throughout the basement.
New hallways and guest rooms were created on the second and third floors, while having to work around the brick walls and numerous windows. The Hotel was originally built with 100 total rooms, but interestingly enough, we are now working with 42 rooms total. A new, second elevator was installed. Wall surfaces are in process of being painted and wallpapered. All of our HVAC is installed and plumbing is complete. As soon as the flooring is completed, we can begin to set the fixtures.
This year, our goal is to finish the painting and wallpaper, carpeting and vinyl, and anything else to make this a comfortable space.
We are happy to be working with so many excellent local sub-contractors and craftspeople.
There will be an entrance on Jefferson Street and also from the rear parking lot. The restaurant on the first floor will be in the front of the building, on the corner of Mahoning and Jefferson Street (the original hotel lobby). We will have seating for approximately 38 people, with overflow or requested seating into the lounge, which is much larger than previously.

The rooftop event center has its own kitchen and bar, and is nearly completed except for furnishings.
We, like many people we've spoken with, are frustrated the process is taking so long. When all is done, it will stand solid for another 100 years! Our current plan is to be open for Groundhog Day 2027!
